ikomaと、時に深く時に軽妙なビートを編み出すコントラバス奏者・清水恒輔/ko-suke
shimizuによるインストゥルメンタル・デュオ。その優しくもたおやかな音楽は、"Japanese
New Exotica"とも言われている。
様々な街での夜毎のライヴ、国内外の数々のアーティストとの共演、そしてコラボレー
ション・アルバム「meets」シリーズの制作等の活動を重ねる中、2003年秋には3rdア
ルバム『Gala de Caras』をリリース。チェロやマリンバの音色も織りまぜられた本作は、「mama!milkのスタンダード・アルバム」との呼び声が高い。

mama!milk is a unit
comprising Yuko Ikoma on accordion and Kosuke Shimizu
on contrabass. The instrumental duo's beautiful
melodies, thanks to the voluptuous finger-work on
Yuko Ikoma's accordion, are expertly woven into
the thoughful and profoundly witty beat on the wood
bass by Kosuke Shimizu. Playing in various bars,
clubs and cafes, the heady mix of the two instruments,
people and the spaces they temporarily inhabit are
already creating a sensation. You'll be captivated
and intoxicated by the softness and beauty of the
sounds they create that seem to transcend both time
and space.
